“The Long, Hot Summer” - 8/24-30/26

Monday, August 24th

M was again painting Mom's condo, so was not here today. Mom picked last week, so I chose the other movie I had suggested last week, which was this 1958 movie directed by Martin Ritt. It stars Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, along with Orson Welles and Angela Lansbury in a supporting role. PN and JW had met five years earlier, but now their attraction blossomed into marriage and an enduring partnership.

Tuesday, August 25th

D1 gave me another great massage.

Wednesday, August 26th

I got a shower and did stuff.

Thursday, August 27th

Dr R and Freddie came today! With her two-week vacation and me seeing a movie last Friday, it had been three weeks since Freddie had visited! We were in the process of setting up the tent when he squeezed out of the side of the stroller and jumped on the bed! How fabulous! That was clear confirmation that he likes to visit! He especially likes it when it is quiet, and no strangers say hi.

Friday, August 28th

Watched a lot of TV and movies.

Saturday, August 29th

Do I even have to say I did not make notes this week? And there was nothing that happened to make notes about. My sister did not get to me until dinner time, and by then I was very hungry! I really like the way Whole Foods makes vegetable sushi. Avocado, carrots, and some cucumber with rice. Extra fresh and yummy!

Sunday, August 30th

Mom stopped by at lunchtime and fed me sushi and kale salad. My sister also made me gluten-free chocolate chip cookies! She had said she ran out of brown sugar, but there were so many chocolate chips I wasn't missing anything! My sister came by again at the end of lunch, and we hung out a little more after Mom left.

My cousin’s son, C, is hiking in Scotland, and he texted me some pictures and a movie that I wanted to share because they are hilarious! The photo of me on a stick was something I made for my 50th birthday party. My cousin had saved one, and C found it and took it with him on his travels. Now I can visit wherever he goes!

Sweet!

Have a fabulous week!
