Here's how I got to this pic: I had recently watched LA Confidential (Great movie!) but wanted something fun for today. That had a great performance by James Cromwell, but he was a bad guy. Let's watch James Cromwell as a really good guy. And thus I landed here. What a wholesome, fun, and funny movie this is! The three mice as a kind of Greek chorus are the best! A movie that leaves you with a wonderful feeling. Yippee!

My masseuse was still recovering, so no massage this week. I thought of questions to ask my neurologist since it is a six-month checkup tomorrow. I want to ask her about getting a blood test so we can see what difference the supplements are making. I will probably also mention that they don't want to give me a suppository every day, but I need that to get rid of the BM that's ready to come out. Mom will ride in the taxi with me, and my sister will meet us there. I called to confirm the taxi and tell them what time to pick me up and drop me off.
Wednesday, April 30th
Mom had picked out my clothes on Monday, and I like knowing the outfit is ready to go after my shower. I scheduled the pickup a little too early, so we got to the physician’s office building early and took my picture outside before going up to the office. My sister joined us and then the doctor came in.
We had a very good visit and talked about a lot of stuff. She ordered the blood test and a swallow evaluation, and we also talked about the importance of socialization. I do more than just watch things all day. I play a lot of the New York Times Games app, and I often get to level Amazing if not Genius with the Spelling Bee, along with Wordle and Connections, so I do a lot to keep my mind active. I also do jigsaw puzzles every day.
The doctor stressed the importance of talking with other people and gave me a pamphlet from the MS Society about their MS Navigator program, which I will check out. The doctor also expressed interest in my blog. I would love it if she recommended my site to other MS patients. Slow down, sweetie. Don't get ahead of yourself. Anyway, it was a good visit, and we all felt very satisfied afterwards.
Thursday, May 1st
I forgot to mention that we talked about my whole BM situation, and she did not see a problem with having a suppository every day. In fact, the order for the suppository was written to allow for daily use, but the nurses were nervous to do that. Now I came armed with the doctor's note that approved of daily use. Yippee! Even so, the nurse argued with me for a while before finally giving it to me. The pills I take twice a day make the BM wait on the loading dock, and then the suppository clears the loading dock. Perfect!
Dr R was still not feeling well, so another week without any furry friend to say hi. Argh!
Friday, May 2nd
I forgot to mention yesterday that the head of physical therapy had stopped by to talk to me about the swallow evaluation. My sister had been worrying about my coughing during meals, and I explained that I don't always sit up perfectly straight when I eat, and because of that, food particles fall to the back of my throat and make me cough. It understandably sounds scary to anyone who is with me, but I know it will eventually resolve. She warned me that I could be downgraded as far as the foods I could eat. I thought if I need to be, then I should be; otherwise, it will be fine. So I have that to look forward to!
Saturday, May 3rd
My sister went to the beach in the morning and stopped by at about 2 in the afternoon. We hung out until her best friend’s sister came by for a visit. My sister has known the family for 35 years or so, and the sister, A, was happy to meet and visit me since she lives close by. Fabulous! I talked about going to UCLA and my cats. She is eager to find out all about me, and we will have lots to talk about. Great! My sister left with her as she had an activity to go to, but she will stop by tomorrow! I love seeing her both days.
Sunday, May 4th
Mom was busy, so she did not stop by today. My sister showed up at about 2 PM, and I had made a list of tasks for us to get done. It was a very productive hour and a half. It felt very good to get all that stuff done.
I almost didn't call because it was 8:30 p.m., but then I got a little nervous thinking I needed to make a reservation for Mother's Day. So I made the reservation, but I wasn't sure about the return time. I will talk to Mom and adjust it later in the week. Phew!
I wrote my blog through Thursday and left the rest for tomorrow. I wrote some more on Monday and then didn't finish it that day. Get it in gear, sleepyhead! At least I have the photo of me outside the doctor's office. Have a great week!
