Mom and especially M wanted a movie NOT from Criterion until I pointed out that the last three movies we've watched were not on that channel. (Sorry for wanting to watch quality movies on a channel I already subscribe to.) Anyway, they relented and we watched this comedy which is fun for Mom and me since we spent 10 years right next to Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
It's a nice little comedy in which John Cusack portrays a freelance assassin with an office run by Joan Cusack, a rival hitman played by Dan Aykroyd, a very reluctant therapist in Alan Arkin and a love interest by Minnie Driver. This 1997 film was directed by George Armitage and has good music in it.

This was supposed to be my final massage by R, but unfortunately someone she knew chose this day to say goodbye to the world so she was not able to make it. She sent a gracious note explaining the situation and I kept myself busy.
Wednesday, August 27th
B just returned from Europe, so I did not expect to see her. I thought J would show up to update my Wi-Fi device but I didn't see him either. I'm sure he will have an excellent reason when I see him next week.
He was telling me about updates to Apple and I told Mom I think I need to get a new iPad. Because I use Voice control on my iPad, and do not turn it off at night, I use it hard! Although my iPad is only two years old, it is definitely showing signs of wear. It is taking me much longer than usual to write this blog this week so that is why I will keep it short.

Dr R told me last week she was going on vacation which of course I didn't remember until just before she was supposed to come. She's gone today and next week, and I had started writing my essay, since three days before it is due is the perfect time to begin! (Not!) I liked what I had written, but it doesn't fit with what I had started with. I might put all of that aside and start from scratch. I like writing an essay but I'm not putting the time into it to put one out once a month.

A came by for a bit and I really enjoy talking with her. Her sister and my sister are the reason the two of us know each other, and while I love working with her, it's not something I can set my watch to. I will look through the care.com people, like I have said before, for someone to supplement my hand exercises.
Saturday, August 30th
My sister texted that she was making a treat and she would be there when it was done cooking. I should have had them give me lunch as she was obviously bringing a dessert. It worked out. She fed me lunch and then gave me a piece of the coffee cake type thing she had made. She said most of her friends have sworn off dessert. Not me! Yum!
She left for a yoga class and then came back and fed me dinner! That works! My CNA had changed me and started getting me ready for bed while she was gone, so it was easy to get to bed when she left. With my new eye shades, because they cover my eyes so completely, I need to go to bed when they get put on. That forces me to go to bed earlier than I usually do, which is a good thing.
Sunday, August 31st
Mom called and explained that she hadn't gone to church, and what she had done had finished too early to come see me directly, so she had gone home and was too hungry, etc. to visit now. She really doesn't like not visiting me on Sunday, but she wasn't going to be able to today. That's OK, I thought, I will see you tomorrow. It wasn't OK with her, but there you go.
I was going to use an older picture for the cover photo today, and then I had dinner and this meal ticket showed up. Because I am being very strict about gluten and nightshades, I need very plain meals, so the kitchen has come up with a name for my type of preparation. Y5 means the Young building, fifth floor, so Y5LUNDQUIST means make it plain for this Lundquist chick! My sister took a picture of herself as a reminder icon and I thought it would be fun to use that as a highlighter. Have a great week!
