Mom had seen this movie in the theaters with her sister, and she had not stopped laughing through the entire picture. Unfortunately, M really does not like watching remakes. He had seen all the original Naked Gun movies, and he graciously sat through the whole movie without laughing once. I laughed at some of the stupid jokes they made. I thought Pamela Anderson did a good job, and Liam Neeson looked old. If you are in the right mood and with other people equally inclined, you'll have fun.

I know there were things that happened early in the week, and I thought I would remember this, but when I get to Sunday, I don't. Someday I will make notes in the moment, but for now, we are in black hole territory.

S gave me a thorough shower, which was great, but she didn't want to refill my bag of water. This is not the first time a CNA has said they will come back later to do that. I don't like to drink down to absolutely nothing, so I always leave some in the bag, and the CNAs use that as a reason they don't need to refill it yet. It is super frustrating! J&B did not come today, but they are very good about texting me to let me know. Ever since I started using a wheelchair and using MEO on Maui, I've noticed how I am grouped with older people, as that is who uses the service. Also, since Mom and my stepfather brought me to be early service on Sunday, I found I got to know the parents of people my age. It doesn't bother me, it's just something I've noted. I'm delighted that J&B like hanging out with me!

Dr R dropped off Freddie in my room while my CNA was getting me cleaned up. As usual, he did not fuss but lay sleeping in the stroller. He is obviously very used to his Thursday routine. Dr. R always puts him on the bed, but he usually does not want to stay for any amount of time. He walks to the back of the bed and gets on the nightstand next to my bed. That causes Dr R to walk around the bed to him, which means he can turn around and quickly walk across the bed and duck back into the stroller. Clever boy, but we are onto him and know that's what he wants to do, so it doesn't always work. We can only keep them on the bed for so long before he gets really fussy. Then stroller time!

A texted me that she had stuff she had to do in the morning, shall we agreed she could come at 2 PM. Then she showed up at 3 PM and explained she had slept through the alarm she had set. She said she could make up the day next week on Tuesday. It was nice of her to stop by to tell me that! I spent the day catching up on shows and movies.
Saturday, October 11th
Today was the day of Mom's get-together at my sister's common room. Because Mom and my sister were so busy getting ready, M came and accompanied me in the taxi to my sister's building. He had cat-sat one time and was very familiar with the condo. The room was sized for 25 people with an attached kitchen and barbecue. There were large koi ponds with nice landscaping and Japanese screen walls, which made for a picturesque setting. It was me, my sister, Mom, M, his mom, and dad, and J&B. They grilled chicken and marinated vegetable skewers. It was potluck, so there was also gluten-free pasta salad with mozzarella balls, prosciutto-wrapped cantaloupe, wagyu beef, and champagne. That's right, we do it up right! We got a great group photo of everyone that I knew my sister should take. She had years of practice taking group selfies with a Polaroid camera back in the day. The other photo is a candid M took of most of us. Great shot! I will finish and post this blog and then make notes on Monday. I hope you like reading this, as things will probably get longer. (you think?)
