It was M’s turn to pick a movie, and he gave us a choice of Paul Newman movies. Hud was in there, which I had never seen, but when he said it was in black-and-white, I was disappointed I wouldn't get to see his amazing blue eyes. I forgot the other choices, but Mom and I were not responding, so he mentioned this movie as well. Mom was interested.
This 1982 film was directed by Sydney Lumet and stars Paul Newman, Jack Warden, James Mason, and Charlotte Rampling in a courtroom drama. PN plays a lawyer who is down on his luck and sees this case as something he can win and get him back in the game. A solid thriller/drama that is very satisfying. Great choice!

One of the activities persons asked me if I wanted to get up for social dining, which I had not done for a while. For me, it is a bit of a misnomer because I need help eating, so I just go down and say hi to the people who are there. It is a chance for people from different floors to eat together. So I will be social and say hi, but it's a lot of fuss for half an hour. But it's good for me to get in my chair and move. So there.
I stayed up in my chair for my massage with D1. We moved into the small dining room across the way so we could play music a little louder. D1 suggested classic rock, so we looked up that category on Apple Music. We tried to play Nirvana, but it was not very relaxing, so we switched to the Beatles. Much better! I got my massage serenaded by the album Abbey Road. Great!

J&B both visited me, which was wonderful! I had requested a summer roll from the restaurant, but they showed up with one from the Safeway supermarket. It was very good and only available at one particular branch, so I am grateful they got what they thought was the best. Let me be clear, I am not complaining; I just look forward to when I can dig into a restaurant summer roll that is not better but different from the supermarket stuff. (Oh, be quiet and eat your food!)

Dr. R and Freddie came by and hung out on the bed with me as usual. I really, really like seeing him every week. Dr. R is having work done at her home, so her cats are always disturbed by strange people and loud noises. I hope hanging out with me is a relaxing respite from the noise. I think it is.

Mom came by after lunch, and we watched the finale to The Pitt. Fabulous as always. Before we watched the episode, I had the head nurse stop by so we could inform her of some upcoming doctor's visits for me. She needs to know so she can make the Medicaid transportation reservations. Done!

My sister had been living in the condominium she owned before she decided she wanted to experience living in a house. She had not rented the condo yet, but a realtor friend had found somebody. She was renting it furnished, which was only 2/3 true at this moment, so she had to finish furnishing it by Monday, when the new renters would show up. Yikes! My sister had also been using M to help her do a lot of the work at the house. And then Mom got called as well, so I wished them well from afar.
Sunday, April 19th
Mom stopped by after lunch for a quick visit, as she had a symphony to attend in the afternoon. She said it was a new piece and she was thinking about not attending. I thought it was a shame not to support someone who was trying to inject some fresh life into classical music. Oh well, I wouldn't want to attend either way.
I wrote notes on each day of this week, so writing the blog would go quickly, which it has. My cover photo should have been me and J&B with the summer roll, but I forgot to take a picture when they were here, so it's just me! And I thought if you want to go to Safeway and get one, this picture will tell you what you're looking for. If you're not in Honolulu, go to a Thai restaurant! In any case, have a fabulous week!
